TRUMAH

1

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

(Exod. 25:1-2)

bring – take (in Hebrew: ikhu). Hashem tells just this word – take. Believers need to understand they give that they received from God. Too they need to do this WILLINGLY.

an offering – in Hebrew: trumah from “ram” (high) and “learim” (to lift). Trumah is an offering which must be raised in a spiritual sense.

and have them take for Me: Heb. לִי. [I.e.,] dedicated to My name. -[from Tan. 1] (Rashi http://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/9886/showrashi/true)

Rav Shaul said:

7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

8

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
