SHALOM

We can find a word "shalom" in TaNaKh more 200 times. What does it mean? According to Strong's Hebrew Definition a word "shalom" (07965) means:  

1) completeness, soundness, welfare, peace
1a) completeness (in number)
1b) safety, soundness (in body)
1c) welfare, health, prosperity
1d) peace, quiet, tranquillity, contentment
1e) peace, friendship
1e1) of human relationships
1e2) with God especially in covenant relationship
1f) peace (from war)
1g) peace (as adjective)

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

 

These lines are about Messiah Yeshua. He is Sar Shalom (the Prince of Peace).

11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it, saying: Shalom aleichem (Peace be to this house). (Matt. 10:11-12)
