"And there shall
come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his
roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of
the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of
the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove
after the hearing of his ears:" (Isaiah 11:1-3)

Yeshayahu is also referring to the Mashiach and he uses the Hebrew world
“Netzer” - “Branch” to describe Him. It is from “Natzer” that the word
“Nazarene” is derived. Yeshua was from Nazareth “Branch Town;” therefore, He
was called a “Nazarene” - a “Branch.” (http://www.cmy.on.ca/Teaching/D'var/5769/BeReshit/Noach/English.htm)
(In Jer.23:5,
33:15, Zech.3:8, 6:12 there is a word
"Tzemach" (Plant; Grain) In Isaiah 11:10 we read about the
Root of Yishai (Jesse). So we see these images of Mashiach (Messiah): Netzer,
Tzemach and Shoresh (Branch, Plant and Root)).
"God is the Creator of all Life, which means growth and action. So Yeshua
is a living branch of the human family, who is also the vine rooted in the
eternal Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is pure eternal expression of who and what
God is, was and will be - omnipotent righteous love." (http://www.digitalspirituality.org/html/DS_Chapter9.html)
"Isaiah
11:2 "he" the "Netzer" has the following
attributes:
1) Spirit of YHWH
2) Wisdom
3) Understanding
4) Counsel
5) Might
6) Knowledge
7) Fear of YHWH
Seven is
the Perfect Number, it signifies Completion, Rest, and
Perfection.
What is
something that contains the number Seven and it has Branches? Here's a
hint, it was something that was inside the Temple that was as tall as a person,
made of pure gold, and had seven Branches? Yes, the
Menorah!"
"It
was a perpetual light source located inside the HOLY PLACE."
"Those
who experience this "NEW LIFE" in Yeshua are called Netzarim, or
"sprouts"." (http://ketuvim.org)
We see Netzer has a connection with Menorah. Menorah, the Light is
Messiah Yeshua.
Rev 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [be] unto you, and peace,
from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven
Spirits which are before his throne;
How do
Jews understand Isaiah 11:1?
Yeshayahu - Isaiah - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
1. And a shoot shall spring forth from the stem of Jesse, and a twig shall
sprout from his roots.
And a shoot shall spring forth from the stem of Jesse: And if
you say, ‘Here are consolations for Hezekiah and his people, that they shall
not fall into his hands. Now what will be with the exile that was exiled to
Halah and Habor, is their hope lost?’ It is not lost! Eventually, the King
Messiah shall come and redeem them. :
