Betzalel, Oholiav and their helpers

Betzalel with Oholiav and the clever helpers built Mishkan (Tabernacle) (Torah, Shemot). We build the temple too, the spiritual temple.

(1Peter 2:5) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

How do to build the temple?

- G-d appoint the believers serving

(Exod 31:1) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

(Exod 31:2) See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

- G-d fills a leader with Ruah ha-Kodesh, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship

(Exod 31:3) And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

(Exod 31:4) To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

(Exod 31:5) And in cutting of stones, to set [them], and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

Shlomo had wisdom and knowledge too:

(2Chr 1:11) And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

(2Chr 1:12) Wisdom and knowledge [is] granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that [have been] before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Hiram had wisdom, understanding and knowledge too:

(1Kings 7:13) And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

(1Kings 7:14) He [was] a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father [was] a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning (knowledge) to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

Hashem created world by wisdom, understanding and knowledge too.

(Prov 3:19) The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

(Prov 3:20) By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

We read in Torah too Hashem put in Betzalel's heart and Oholiav's heart the ability to teach others:

(Exod 35:34) And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, [both] he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

It is very important to teach others!

- G-d gives the helpers to leader.

(Exod 31:6) And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

Please notice to these words: ''that they may make all that I have commanded thee''. G-d's servants need do all G-d commands them. Do you remember Nadab and Abihu (Aharon's sons) brought strange fire before Hashem?

(Lev 10:1) And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

(Lev 10:2) And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

Betzalel was of the tribe of Judah. Oholiav was of the tribe of Dan (the tribe of Dan was the tribe of sons of   bondwomen).

We read about Judah:

Gen 49:9 Judah [is] a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

and about Dan:

(Deut 33:22) And of Dan he said, Dan [is] a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.

Yeshua Messiah was the Lion of the tribe of Judah.:

(Rev 5:5) And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Betzalel and Oholiav built Mishkan. This was a hint (remez) to that later Jews and Gentiles will be united in Yeshua.

(Eph 2:14) For He is our peace, Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us];

(Eph 2:15) Having abolished in his flesh the enmity... for to make in Himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;

What did Betzalel and Oholiav need to do?

(Exod 31:7) The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that [is] thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

(Exod 31:8) And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,

(Exod 31:9) And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,

(Exod 31:10) And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

(Exod 31:11) And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy [place]: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.

Again Hashem speaks: ''... according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do''. There are no unnecessary words in Torah, TanaKh and Brit Hadasha!

In this case it is a question of obeying. In the next chapter, Shemot 32 we read about a great sin of gold idol. It was a result of rebellion

(1Sam 15:22) And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

In Shemot 35 we read about trumot (the offerings):

(Exod 35:4) And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the LORD commanded, saying,

(Exod 35:5) Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever [is] of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,

(Exod 35:6) And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' [hair],

(Exod 35:7) And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,

(Exod 35:8) And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,

(Exod 35:9) And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.

and about help for building of Mishkan:

(Exod 35:10) And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded;

(Exod 35:11) The tabernacle, his tent, and his covering, his taches, and his boards, his bars, his pillars, and his sockets,

(Exod 35:12) The ark, and the staves thereof, [with] the mercy seat, and the vail of the covering,

(Exod 35:13) The table, and his staves, and all his vessels, and the shewbread,

(Exod 35:14) The candlestick also for the light, and his furniture, and his lamps, with the oil for the light,

(Exod 35:15) And the incense altar, and his staves, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the door at the entering in of the tabernacle,

(Exod 35:16) The altar of burnt offering, with his brasen grate, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,

(Exod 35:17) The hangings of the court, his pillars, and their sockets, and the hanging for the door of the court,

(Exod 35:18) The pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords,

(Exod 35:19) The cloths of service, to do service in the holy [place], the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office.

(Exod 35:22) And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, [and] brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered [offered] an offering of gold unto the LORD.

Yes, it is very important they were ''willing-hearted''!

 - Eye to details. Why do  we read about loops, hooks, rings, chains etc. in Shemot, 36, 37, 38, 39? Because of they were necessary for building of Mishakan. Adam and Hava (Eve) did a deadly sin because of lack of consideration for detail.

- A report about donations. In Shemot, 38 we read an detailed report about donations.

(Exod 38:21) This is the sum of the tabernacle, [even] of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, [for] the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.

(Exod 38:22) And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the LORD commanded Moses.

(Exod 38:23) And with him [was] Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.

(Exod 38:24) All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy [place], even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

(Exod 38:25) And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation [was] an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

(Exod 38:26) A bekah for every man, [that is], half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty [men].

(Exod 38:27) And of the hundred talents of silver were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the vail; an hundred sockets of the hundred talents, a talent for a socket.

(Exod 38:28) And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their chapiters, and filleted them.

(Exod 38:29) And the brass of the offering [was] seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels.

(Exod 38:30) And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the brasen altar, and the brasen grate for it, and all the vessels of the altar,

(Exod 38:31) And the sockets of the court round about, and the sockets of the court gate, and all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins of the court round about.

This report isn't casual. People need know info.

(Exod 39:32) Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

(Exod 39:42) According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.

(Exod 39:43) And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

We read these words some times: ''according to all that the LORD commanded''. It is important!

So Betzalel, Oholiav and their helpers began to build a temple and had built it because of they had obeying! There is connection between them and rabbi Shaul (Paul) and Apollos.

(1Cor 3:5) Who then is Paul, and who [is] Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

(1Cor 3:6) I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

(1Cor 3:9) For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building.

(1Cor 3:10) According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

(1Cor 3:11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

(1Cor 3:12) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

(1Cor 3:13) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

''...Bezalel had been created and placed in our midst to set the wheels in motion for communal redemption through the building and use of the Mishkan. Only one who had the qualities of the Messiah could put his hands to the task of building the Mishkan in the wilderness. Imbued with wisdom, insight and understanding, Bezalel constructed the first abode for Hashem. The future Messiah, filled with the same qualities, would build the final Temple as a permanent resting place for the King. In the Besorah, we see this example of Messiah Yeshua, only twelve years of age, teeming with the spirit and wisdom of G-d as he is found in the Temple by his parents:

''The child grew and became strong and filled with wisdom. G-d's favor was upon him... On the third day they found him. He was sitting in the Temple court among the rabbis, not only listening to them but questioning what they said; and everyone who heard him was astonished at his insight and his responses... And Yeshua grew both in wisdom and in stature, gaining favor both with other people and with G-d."  [Luke 2:40, 46-47, 52]'' http://www.umjc.net/content/view/88/44/

What does name ''Oholiav'' mean? It means: Father (G-d) is my tent.

What does name ''Betzalel'' mean? It means ''in the shadow of G-d''. Be in the shadow is to fear of G-d, to love Him, to serve Him, to observe His commandments.

(Psalms 91:1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow (be-tzel) of the Almighty.

(Psalms 25:12) What man [is] he that feareth the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way [that] he shall choose.

(Deut 10:12) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

(Deut 10:13) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
